This arrangement only lasted until 1935 when Oliver began manufacturing a licensed version of the Halda-Norden machine which, according to Beeching, had only as recently as 1929 appeared on the market in its then-present form. Again, when the No. 20 was introduced, the No. 15 and No. 16 of the old style were dropped.

All the mechanisms work in harmony providing a strong and clear ‘Ding’ sound at the end of each line. We know that in 1935 the British Oliver Typewriter Company made a standard typewriter which emerged from a merger of the Danish Norden company with Halda. The Halda-Norden was designed by the legendary Danish architect and typographer Knud Valdemar Engelhardt. The first typewriter under the name Halda was created in 1896 at the Henning Hammarlund factory in Svängsta, Sweden. After the bankruptcy in 1930, cooperation with the Danish printing machine factory, Norden and English Oliver began. From now on the factory was called Halda-Norden. The name was maintained until 1941.

This is a beautiful typewriter dates between 1930-1934. It is designed by the Danish architect Knud V Engelhardt. It is still in beautiful condition and still works without apparent problems. The pictures speak from themselves. It still has the original intact round glasses covering the ink ribbon. The bottom is open, so you can see the inside. A nice piece of engineering!

Judging by the serial number, mine would have been built in approximately 1955. Making it almost 60 years old. I also discovered it is one of the few Swedish made typewriters and was originally sold in Vienna, Austria.
